The National Press Museum
The National Press Museum
The Press Museum of Porto (Museu da Imprensa, Jornais e Artes Gráficas), is an interactive museum proposing hands-on exhibitions with different machines used throughout the history of journalism for the production of advertisements, newspapers and magazines.
What to see at the Porto Press Museum
Visitors can make their own prints and news, using antique and modern methods of composition and printing.
In addition to the machines, it contains exhibits of Portuguese and foreign caricaturists and cartoons. It is the only museum of its kind in Portugal.
For those interested in this field, those who practice this profession or the simply curious, the museum is a good choice for a rainy afternoon or some spare time. It doesn't take long to visit it and if you travel to Porto with your family: the little ones won't get bored.
